Places to visit in Japan: Tokyo Tower (東京タワー)

Throughout this year, we will share our travel experiences in Japan. If you have a beautiful photo from your last trip, please share story with us. We are all interested in to hear.

The Tokyo Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks in Japan. If you are a Drama (ドラマ) fan, you must have seen it numerous times in the background of some classic scenes.

The Tokyo Tower is a communications and observation tower in Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1958, it is inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris and designed by Tachu Naito. It is painted white and international orange to comply with air safety regulation. (Yes it is not RED!!)

Standing 332.9 meters high, the Tokyo Tower is 9 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower and the exterior of the tower gets a fresh coat of paint by hand every 5 years. It takes one full year to paint the entire tower!

The view up top from the observation deck is spectacular both during daytime and nighttime. You will also be amazed by viewing the Tokyo Tower from different angles and distances in different seasons.

Where are your memorable places from Japan visit?
