One of our purposes is to support students' wishes to come true.
In the book of 'Ikigai' The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life, Hector C. and Francesc M. ; who have interviewed the happy eldest people in Okinawa prefecture in Japan, mentioned that the happiest people are not the ones who achieve the most. They are the ones who spend more time than others in a state of flow.
This state of flow can be achieved from following seven conditions according to the researcher Owen Schaffer.
Knowing what to do
Knowing how to do it
Knowing how well you are doing
Knowing where to go
Perceiving significant challenges
Perceiving significant skills
Being free from distractions
To achieve this optimal experience, you have to focus on increasing the time you spend on activities that bring you to this state of flow, rather than allowing yourself to get caught up in activities that offer immediate pleasure.
Learning a new language can be a challenging task which might be slightly outside of your comfort zone. However, you also have chance of completing this with the appropriate guidance. Therefore, we see that it is easier for students who come to BJLC Schools achieve this state of flow.
You will gain more confidence from having clear objectives and small goals to grow step by step to become a bilingual person.
Real experience of being corresponded by real people is something irreplaceable.
You will be inspired and encouraged by teachers and peers to study in a group.
Knowing the direction you are heading in your study, you will be more focused. Once you gain the flow with your new habit, it will effect overall life satisfaction and happiness will improve too!
Great things from becoming bilingual is that you will also become a new version of yourself with a more conscious and divergent thinking and listening skills and with more creative thinking with a broader and more global perspective.
Those new ideas, inspirations and intuitions you will have can not be replaced by anyone or not even by artificial intelligence. A new version of you becomes the part of your personality, with new kinds of feelings.
The language learning will change your brain function, your behaviour and your life in a positive way. Isn't that great?
